Pop-up Ice-Skating on the Waterfront at Middle Branch Park Recap

Pop-up Ice-Skating on the Waterfront
at Middle Branch Park

Middle Branch Park turned into a winter wonderland on February 3, 2024, as the Youth Resiliency Institute (YRI) unveiled the first-ever Reimagine Middle Branch Winter Activation event, where attendees were treated to a delightful array of activities on the waterfront.

The highlight of the event was the dazzling pop-up ice-skating rink, brought to life in collaboration with the South Baltimore Gateway Partnership and Baltimore City's Department of Recreation & Parks. A total of 300 people laced up their skates and glided across the ice, enjoying the crisp winter air and scenic views.

In addition to ice skating, there were a variety of food vendors present, including Deluxe Funnel Cakes and a Candy & Snack Truck, offering everything from fish and chicken to turkey burgers and hotdogs.

The festivities didn't stop there; the event was packed with a plethora of activities for all ages. From visual art making activities to flag football, face painting, bouncy houses, and instrument making & performances, there was something for everyone. A live DJ kept the energy high throughout the day, ensuring that the Middle Branch Park Winter Activation event was a memorable experience for all who attended.

Reimagine Middle Branch, a community-driven initiative, is led by the City of Baltimore, South Baltimore Gateway Partnership, and Parks & People, working alongside a team of expert consultants, stakeholders, and Baltimoreans.
