The Voices of the Middle Branch interview series aims to celebrate the communities around the Middle Branch through visual storytelling.

Jaiden, Student Staffer at baltimore community rowing

"I got started rowing about 3 years ago after my mom signed me up for rowing camp without telling me. Initially, I thought I wouldn’t enjoy rowing, but I was pleasantly surprised. When I was about 6, my mother encouraged me to swim. Because of my grandmother’s fear of water, she was keen on making sure I was comfortable with the water. My proudest moment here has been this summer when I have been able to be more hands-on with teaching participants how to row. Every now and then I see 'a light ignite' as people learn to love the sport. If there was something I would change about the Middle Branch waterfront, it would be to have better maintenance and upgrades to some of the amenities on the pier."
